County Treasurer

The office of county treasurer originates in Article XVI of the state constitution. In each of Texas’ 254 counties, county treasurers are elected to serve four-year terms.¹²

Dr. Carla L. Wyatt serves her first term as Harris County Treasurer. Dr. Wyatt was elected in November 2022.³

Chief Banker

Treasurers serve as chief bankers and accountants for the county, in charge of collecting and distributing funds, as well as financial record-keeping and reporting.

November 2023 Elections

The Harris County District Clerk’s office isn’t scheduled to have an election until 2026.

Nothing really for us to do as voters, aside from registering to vote!
